Professor Gail S. Goodman, Distinguished Professor of psychology and Director of Center for Public Policy Research is at the University of California Davis. It is widely believed that she was the one who beginning the current scientific study of children's memories of eyewitnesses and children's victims as witnesses in lawful contexts. Professor Goodman published widely and has won many grants and has been honored with several international and national awards. She has advised numerous authorities and government agencies around all over the world on policy and research relating to the treatment of children victims of the law by the system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly known as Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She's a member of numerous professional organizations which include the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She is the founder of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has served as the president of 3 divisions (Division Society for Child and Family Policy as well as Practice Division of the American Psychological Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
